Acne
Acne is the term for blackheads and whiteheads, pimples, and even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that occur on the face, chest, back, and sometimes the upper arm. An important factor is the increase in hormones known as androgens (male sex hormones). The elevation of these hormones during puberty of both boys and girls causes the hair follicle (sebaceous glands) to expand and produce more of our natural skin oil (sebum).
When these natural oils and hair push to the skins surface, they open the skins pores to a possible infection by bacteria. Pimple production begins when the bacteria enters a pore and rests in the oil sac where it is protected from oxygen. Which in turn causes pimples to form. Starting or stopping taking birth control pills causes hormonal changes in women that can cause acne also.
Acne can be a customary skin disease that affects people of all ages and usually develops on the face, chest, back and shoulders. Acne is the best-known skin disease, affecting about 17 million people in the United States alone. Women's menstrual problems and puberty time in both boys and girls can cause negative effects in the natural order of skin cell, hair and skin oil production.
This overflow of sebum will push through the pore opening, leaving it prone to bacteria infection. Dirt from work, sports or just everyday activities can cause major problems if you don't keep up on periodic washing of the soiled areas. Excessive dust and bacteria in the air will instantly help produce some pimples as the skins pores are filled with dirt, helping block natural events of the skin.
Acne pimples are a natural occurrence in ongoing natural production of facial hair and protective skin oils. Being that most people don't know the facts about acne when a pimple forms, common reaction is to scrub their faces, backs or shoulders with abrasive soaps and scrub pads.
Reality is scrubbing just washes away the natural skin oils that are produced to protect the delicate skin against the environment. The body starts producing more oils to make up for the loss when it notices the delicate layers of oils are gone from all the scrubbing or using the astringent soaps.
